Stainless steel disc is a common industrial material, it has good corrosion resistance, high strength and beautiful appearance. In order to further improve the performance and appearance of stainless steel discs, surface treatment is often required. Some common stainless steel disc surface treatments are described below.
1. Polishing: Polishing is one of the most common stainless steel disc surface treatment methods. Remove blemishes, oxide layers and other contaminants from the surface of stainless steel discs by mechanical or chemical means, leaving them with a smooth and shiny surface. Polishing can be divided into mechanical polishing and electrolytic polishing two ways, the specific choice of method depends on the requirements of stainless steel disc and application environment.
2. Pickling: Pickling is to remove the surface oxidation layer and rust by soaking stainless steel disc in an acidic solution, so as to achieve a clean and bright effect. Common pickling solutions include nitric acid, sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Pickling not only removes contaminants, but also improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steel discs.
3. Sand blasting: The abrasive particles are sprayed at high speed to impact the surface of the stainless steel disc to remove the oxide layer, pollutants and defects. Sandblasting can produce a rough surface texture that increases the surface roughness of the stainless steel disc, providing better adhesion and visual effects.
4. Chemical coloring: Chemical coloring is a method of forming a colored film layer on the surface of stainless steel disc. By treating the stainless steel disc in an acidic solution, a dense oxide film is formed on its surface. Different treatment methods and acidic solutions can produce oxide films of different colors, such as blue, golden and black. Chemical coloring can provide stainless steel discs with more appearance options and enhance their corrosion resistance.
5. Passivation treatment: Passivation is a chemical treatment method to form a dense passivation film on the surface of stainless steel disc. The passivation film can improve the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel disc and prevent further oxidation and corrosion. Common passivation methods include acid passivation and alkaline passivation. The common solutions for acidic passivation are nitric acid and sulfuric acid, while the common solution for alkaline passivation is sodium hydroxide.
In addition to the above methods, there are a number of other surface treatment methods, such as spraying, electroplating and PVD coating, which can be selected according to different needs and applications. Each surface treatment method has its advantages and scope of application, which need to be selected and implemented according to the specific situation.
